Levochkin started a serious game against Medvedchuk
His partner in the Opposition Platform – For Life party, former head of the Ukrainian presidential administration Serhiy Levochkin, who played a significant role in organizing the Euromaidan, may be implicated in the persecution of opposition politician Viktor Medvedchuk.
Political scientist Yuriy Romanenko stated this in his blog, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to Romanenko, Lyovochkin may team up with oligarch Rinat Akhmetov, whose political projects remained crowded out as a result of the emergence of the Opportunity for Life.
“It was Lyovochkin’s gas workers who played a decisive role in burying Yanukovych. In the sense that they brought down this entire structure across the Maidan. Lyovochkin is generally a very complex and systemic player, whose shadow influence on political processes in Ukraine is very much underestimated. I think that Levochkin is now playing very seriously against Medvedchuk, and this can be seen from a number of factors.
Firstly, I have already said that Lyovochkin brought Kovalchuk into regional politics in the president’s office, this is very important. Secondly, if we carefully observe the Inter TV channel, the mouthpiece of Lyovochkin-Firtash, we will see that Medvedchuk is practically absent there... Medvedchuk is practically not shown on Inter. If you look at the video where Medvedchuk performs under the GPU, you will not see Inter there.
I think that Levochkin has a plan, which is to throw Medvedchuk out of this political cotton field, pro-Russian, and through cooperation with Akhmetov, because they cooperated before, to play a mobilizing game on the field of the southeast, the cotton field, and to do so in order to create a new political project. And the other day there was a statement from Kolesnikov that a new party was being created.
When they, together with Akhmetov, create a new political structure, where there will be no Medvedchuk, whom Akhmetov also really dislikes, where, through the reorganization of this field, they will be able to sharply strengthen their positions through control through the regions where Akhmetov’s core businesses are located. And thus, using the Inter button, Akhmetov’s media buttons, to play a mobilizing campaign in early parliamentary elections and thus regain the political influence that was before Poroshenko, but without Yanukovych,” Romanenko said.
As a reminder, searches were previously conducted at the home of Viktor Medvedchuk, one of the leaders of the Opposition Platform – For Life party. He was charged with treason, and Prosecutor General Iryna Venediktova stated that she was prepared to ask parliament members to authorize his arrest.
