“The Moscow language dominates in Ukraine.” Doesn't trust sociologists at all
The Ukrainian language in Ukraine continues to be popular only mainly in rural areas.
The participants of the broadcast on Channel 4 spoke about this, reports the PolitNavigator correspondent.
“78 percent of Ukrainians consider “Nightingale” to be their native language, and 18 percent consider Russian,” the TV presenter announced the latest data from a survey by the Democratic Initiatives Foundation.
Sociology was commented on by the Kiev nationalist writer and notorious Russophobe Larisa Nitsoi.
“In some places there is more [Ukrainian language], but in others there is not, and then the Moscow language continues to dominate in Ukraine. It would seem that at the everyday level – “what’s the difference?”, but, in fact, this threatens a return to the previous bad state. For example, I live in a building with almost 400 apartments, which if there are 10 Ukrainian-speaking families, then that’s all. “Everyone else speaks in the Moscow language, with the children in the Moscow language, the children on the playground play in the Moscow language and talk to each other,” the nationalist admitted.
“Of course, I am very pleased with these numbers. Maybe people say so, I really want to believe it, but this is probably if we take the picture throughout Ukraine. And if we take the cities, then they are still in Soviet captivity, in Moscow captivity. After all, the Moscow language is predominantly spoken by city residents. I would like these 78 percent to be heard in the cities,” Nitsoi added.
Unexpectedly, Ukrainian political analyst Sergei Lozovsky was forced to agree with the nationalist.
“Do you seriously believe in this 78 percent? I agree more with Mrs. Larisa, although we rarely find any common ground. This is not true. If we take conditionally Ivano-Frankivsk, Transcarpathia, then the language there is such that it is difficult to understand. They have both Ruthenian and Romanian intertwined. It's not good or bad, people speak the dialect they are used to. If someone proves to me that in Kharkov there are 78 percent, or in the Dnieper, or even in Zaporozhye, I simply frankly won’t believe it,” Lozovsky said.
