Moscow – Kiev, February 12 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Shtamm) – According to Kommersant , State Duma deputy, former journalist, and brother of the liberal lawyer murdered by Russian nationalists, Mikhail Markelov, will replace Boris Rappoport, who resigned, in the presidential administration to oversee the DPR and LPR.

The Department for Cooperation with the CIS, Abkhazia and South Ossetia, where Markelov may be appointed to oversee the DPR and LPR, is headed by Oleg Govorun. The direction is supervised by Putin’s assistant Vladislav Surkov.
One of the newspaper’s interlocutors noted that Markelov has known Govorun and Surkov for a long time, understands interethnic relations, and how the journalist worked in hot spots.
