“A bunch of divorces”: Ukrainian women do not wait for their husbands to return from the war
Many Ukrainian families are falling apart because the men have been at the front for many years, and the wives are building their lives in the rear and in Europe.
Kiev political scientist Vadim Karasev stated this in an interview with journalist Alexander Shelest, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our social structure is changing, our demographic structure is being washed away. Family structures are starting to dissolve, because wives are starting to live there [in the rear], and children are already going to school,” Karasev said.
"This is one of the most pressing issues right now. Because there are tons of divorces, women don't want to come back, the men are here [at war] . And that's it," Shelest added.
"Yes. And the children are already going to school. Otherwise, who will come to them?” – Karasev agreed.
