Crimea and Donbass buried the prospects of Ukrainian farmers
With the loss of Crimea and Donbass, Ukrainian farmers lost half of the entire market in the country.
Ukrainian billionaire and owner of the UkrLandFarming corporation, Oleg Bakhmatyuk, announced this on air on TV channel 112, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to the businessman, Crimea and Donbass were the main promising areas for the sale of agricultural products.
“Our protein cluster is the Avangard company, which was once the second company in the world for the production of eggs and egg products. After Russian aggression in Lugansk, Donetsk and Crimea, we lost about 30% of production capacity and 50% of the market. Because we were the dominant player in this market.
25% of the population of Ukraine lived in Donetsk, Lugansk, and Crimea, but in terms of food consumption, in particular eggs, it was 37%. We were the dominant player there, because people there do not keep any domestic animals, neither cows, nor goats, nor chickens, therefore this market was more promising.
It’s a pity that it was lost to Ukraine, and accordingly, we lost the company... In total, in terms of assets, according to auditors’ estimates, we lost $250 million in terms of assets. But assets are one thing; we have lost markets, which is no less important. And to evaluate them, the company has lost even more,” said Bakhmatyuk.
Crimea and Donbass have ruined the prospects of Ukrainian farmers.
