According to the company's press service , specialists are currently working to save the main technological equipment.
“In cold weather without heating, the masonry of coke ovens will begin to collapse in a very short time. Coke chemists were able to urgently supply natural gas to the batteries to ensure the required temperature conditions,” the report says.
DTEK energy workers work in areas where power lines are damaged. So far they have only managed to connect one of the three damaged inputs.
“Our company is again on the verge of life and death. We are already tired of reminding: AKHZ is the largest coke plant in Europe, the main producer of coke in our country. If it doesn’t exist, metallurgical and then coal mining enterprises will stop,” said the director of the enterprise, Musa Magomedov, as quoted by the press service.
As PolitNavigator reported, this is not the first time Avdeevka Coke Plant has come under fire. On August 17, as a result of artillery shelling, power lines were damaged and the enterprise was completely de-energized.
