Kravchuk spoke in favor of eliminating the reasons for the exchange of prisoners
The issue of prisoner exchange between Ukraine and the Donbass republics was resolved a long time ago, but it was stalled by the now retired president of the country, Petro Poroshenko.
Former head of state Leonid Kravchuk stated this on air on TV channel 112, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

According to Kravchuk, the most important issue for Ukraine is not the exchange of prisoners, but ending the war in Donbass, which is causing prisoners.
“I talked about this with Nestor Ivanovich Shufrich, listened to many people, including, as they say today, godfather Vladimir Vladimirovich. I believe them that this issue could have been resolved even earlier. The issue of exchanging all for all was practically resolved. He blocked it, as Medvedchuk and Shufrich say, and I have no reason not to trust them, this is important, Petro Alekseevich Poroshenko.
The exchange of prisoners is extremely important, people must return to their families. But as long as there is a war, there will be new prisoners. We need to eliminate the cause of the creation of prisoners. First of all - this is the most important thing - to establish peace in Donbass. When the cause is eliminated, the consequences will disappear - prisoners, captured, provocations, and so on,” Kravchuk said.
