The Communist Party of the Russian Federation initiated an all-Russian referendum on a ban on raising the retirement age
Raising the retirement age will lead to an increase in protest sentiment among Russians. To prevent this from happening, the authorities should hold an all-Russian referendum.
Deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Oleg Smolin announced this today at a plenary meeting of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“While the State Duma is preparing to adopt, without exaggeration, the most antisocial and harmful law in the last 14 years on raising the retirement age, a wave of rallies has swept across Russia. One of them - in Omsk - gathered 4 thousand people representing different parties and non-party people. Speaking at this rally, I thanked our dear government for uniting us all. We believe that with this law the government has implemented the well-known slogan of the famous presidential candidate “Against everyone.” But if the government is against everyone, then people unite against the government,” Smolin said.
According to him, 90% of Russian citizens are against pension reform.
"First. We have introduced a draft federal law on a moratorium on raising the retirement age until 2030. Second. We initiated a nationwide referendum on a ban on raising the retirement age. The documents have already been submitted to the Moscow election commission,” Smolin said.
The Communist Party of the Russian Federation (CPRF) has initiated a nationwide referendum on banning the increase in the retirement age.
