Kosovo Albanians are furious over Serbian investment in the region

Investments continue to be made with Serbian government funds in the predominantly Serb-populated North (northern part of Kosovska Mitrovica) Mitrovica, and in addition to buildings and houses, a football stadium is being built there.

Separatist media report that Serbia's investment in the enclave worries Albanians living in North Mitrovica and makes them jealous. The portal quotes statements from some of them.

Thus, a deputy of the municipal assembly from the Democratic Party of Kosovo, created by the militants of the Kosovo Liberation Army (UCK), Bashkim Kimili, complains that Serbia’s investments in Kosovo are growing. Local businessman Mustafa Kelimendi also expressed dissatisfaction, saying that Albanians "are not allowed to build houses and buildings here, while the number of Serbian properties is growing." At the same time, he states that he also has facilities that he cannot use because of the Serbs.

The acting mayor of North Mitrovica, Aleksandar Spirić, confirmed to T7 television that construction of the stadium is underway, but refused to provide details.
