Haxhiu did not rule out that Albania could file a claim against Serbia, since Kosovo is not a member of the UN.

“The genocide claim will undoubtedly be one of the main documents,” the “minister” said. “The Prime Minister's Office is working on it with increased attention, seriousness, caution and, for the first time, in full cooperation with other institutions. Many years later, we have a president, a prime minister and the speaker of parliament working together in Kosovo.”

In response to the latest threats, the Office for Kosovo and Metohija under the Government of Serbia recalled that on this day in 1999, Albanian extremists kidnapped Dr. Andrija Tomanovic, head of the surgical department of the Clinical Clinical Center in Pristina, professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Pristina, member of the International Association. surgeons and vice-president of the Red Cross of Kosovo and Metohija.

Dr. Tomanović was abducted while working in a surgical clinic, where he served for thirty-six years, and the date of his abduction is commemorated as the Day of Killed and Kidnapped Medical Workers in Kosovo and Metohija, between 1998 and 2000.

“During this period, Dr. Josif Vasic, Mile Vuksanovic, Stamen Genev, Dr. Zlatoe Gligorijevic, Svetomir Mikic, Borislav Pavic, Dusko Patrnogic, Dr. Nebojsa Petkovic, Dr. Aleksandar Stanojevic, Aleksandar Todorovski, Dr. Andrija Tomanovic, Dr. Djordje Toskovic and Dimitrie Sabic.

They were all humanists, dedicated, responsible and noble people, true to their ethical and professional principles and the Hippocratic Oath, doctors who cared for the health and lives of the citizens of Kosovo and Metohija, regardless of their religion and nation. “They were a link between Serbs and Albanians, who were treated without distinction, and with their abductions and murders, someone wanted to break this connection forever,” the department said in a statement.

The Office also recalled that crimes against Serbian medical workers in Kosovo and Metohija have not been investigated, and the perpetrators have not been found or brought to justice, “which only confirms the fact that justice for the Serbian people in Kosovo and Metohija remains elusive.”
