It will be increasingly difficult for the United States to maintain leadership in the unipolar world that emerged after the collapse of the USSR. The world has changed and now it has many poles that the United States cannot ignore.
German political scientist Alexander Rahr stated this on the UkrLife internet channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to the expert, the most serious challenge to America will come from Russia, but the United States will also have to compete with China, India and Brazil.
“To put it simply, the Americans will fight for their monopolar world, which was so beautifully built after the fall of the Berlin Wall precisely on the basis of the Charter of Paris and Western institutions. But this world is now changing, it is becoming more chaotic and requires structure and institutional changes. But Americans and Europeans are not ready to share power in this world with other poles.
Here I am not saying that this is just China - Russia can again be included in these poles, in a separate pole, or India, Brazil, the countries that will rise. Türkiye is also beginning to play a completely different role than it previously played. You need to look at this very carefully.
In other words, I think that for Americans, everyone can become an enemy who will challenge this very idea of the American world. They will throw, Russia, perhaps, more aggressively and persistently than other states. It seems to me that this is not a matter of one American president, but simply of the time in which we live. It will be very difficult for America, under any president, in any situation, to maintain its leadership in this world, because it is objectively changing,” Rahr said.
