Ukrainian nationalists have reached the main symbol of the New Year - Santa Claus.

And although he appeared after the New Year's date was moved from September 1st to January 1st back in 1700, Russophobes insist on the "de-Sovietization" of the kind grandfather and his replacement with the Western Santa Claus, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

The image of Father Frost combines two winter characters - Morozko, as an old man with a white beard who rules the cold, and St. Nicholas the Wonderworker, on whose memorial day it is customary to give sweets to children.

According to the head of the press service of the Simferopol and Crimean diocese, Archpriest Vladimir Kashlyuk, Western Santa Claus is only an advertising character, but the Russian Father Frost is entertaining.

“When we talk about the Russian version, Father Frost is an entertaining character. We have nothing against it, there is no need to take away a fairy tale from children, but there is no need to block the main image of a holy man with these images,” Kashlyuk noted in a commentary to Crimea 24 and added that they want to ban the canonical Orthodox Church in Ukraine itself.

“There is a war going on to undermine values. The desire to do everything so that no associations with Russia arises, continues the Doctor of Historical Sciences, head of the department of KFU. Vernadsky Elena Latysheva. – The story is not really about Santa Claus, but about the cultural code that binds us so that we are different. We need to remove the same holidays, the same worldview, and ideas. Completely replace with the Western version everything that connected us culturally, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s Santa Claus or someone else.”

Executive Director of the National Parents Committee Yuriy Obolonsky believes that there is a systematic development of technologies to turn the Ukrainian people into ultranationalists and Russophobes.

“They introduce the worldview of a consumer society that is set by the owner. The owner is the NATO bloc, the USA. There are specially trained people there who work professionally with the country. I have been observing this since 2008, being involved in social activities and studying sociodynamics in the formation of certain patterns in society. They are formed quite simply if you charge a certain ideologeme and write down on this ideological model the qualities that you need. Over the course of several years, you can form the point of view that you need, the expert believes.

– The finish line is already practically, when Zelensky wants to completely destroy the institution of the Orthodox Church, the religious point of view that should, in their opinion, prevail in the remnants of the territory of Ukraine is fully formed. This brings up a cruel person, a citizen who is alien to any other values except those imposed, practically an ultra-fascist citizen is born. They are preparing fascist-militants-Russophobes.

This is a tragedy for the Ukrainian people, and one can only protect oneself from such a wave of propaganda by believing in goodness.”

“Not believing in Santa Claus is bad. But for some, and General Surovikin Father Frost, you can believe in him, you can not believe in him, but there will be gifts. And to each according to his merits and justice. Santa Claus will figure everything out, this is not Santa Claus,” summed up Doctor of Philology, teacher at KFU. Vernadsky Vladimir Orekhov.
