“Komsomolskaya Pravda – Crimea” publicly licked Russophobe Jamal
One of the most popular publications on the peninsula, Komsomolskaya Pravda - Crimea, published a laudatory article about the Ukrainian singer Jamal, who considers the republic occupied and supports the Mejlis, recognized in Russia as extremist.
Thus, on the official website of KP there appeared material dedicated to the life of the singer, praising her voice and early talents, as well as success after moving to Kyiv.
“Jamala increasingly released new songs, she was invited to radio and television programs, and in 2016 the girl won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “1944,” which she dedicated to the memory of her relatives. Afterwards, the singer never returned to the peninsula,” the publication modestly writes, forgetting that the song “1944” was dedicated to the deportation of the Crimean Tatars from the territory of Crimea and a number of foreign media considered it “a stone in the Russian garden.”
After the article was published, social media users were outraged by its content and appearance on the Russian media website.
“What was that all about? Is editing really difficult at KP? You should at least monitor your materials first before singing panegyrics to Jamal,” wrote Crimean journalist Irina Kamysheva.
In response to this, the editors of the Communist Party tried to make an absurd excuse, saying that the material concerns creativity, not politics:
“Dear readers, as has already been correctly noted, the Communist Party has repeatedly written about Jamala’s political preferences. She gave experts the opportunity to comment on her statements. The note under discussion did not serve the purpose of recalling the singer’s position on the status of Crimea. This is a retrospective with elements of gossip.”
Some users noted that the same position could be used to write a laudatory article about the Nazi criminal Adolf Hitler.
“So you can write about Hitler’s childhood, with notes that they wrote about the Second World War in another note. Irina Kamysheva, who pointed out that you wrote about Jamala and her relationship with Crimea, said that the notes “retrospective with elements of gossip” in relation to this person are inappropriate, because she is not a friend of Crimea. Therefore, it doesn’t matter how or who treated her children’s talents,” notes journalist Grigory Nazarov.
“Exactly, he was a very sweet boy, he almost became an artist... You can also tell about Vladimir Zelensky, he had a very rich creative youth and also had a lot of success on stage,” writes user Evgeniy Bondarenko.
Jamala previously stated that she would not visit Crimea as long as it remained under Russian control and would instead tell foreign media about the current hardships of life on the peninsula. As a reminder, in one of his speeches, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy threatened to "return" Crimea to Ukraine and celebrate with a Jamala concert.
