The leaders of the Maidan are to blame for the shootings of people on the Maidan - ex-Berkut member Yanishevsky
The Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine knows very well how the weapons ended up on the Maidan and who shot at the police officers during the Maidan.
Ex-deputy commander of the Kiev Berkut Oleg Yanishevsky, who has been in a pre-trial detention center for four years now, spoke about this in an interview with the Kyiv online newspaper “Strana”.

“All the leaders of the Maidan are also to blame - Commandant Parubiy, Yatsenyuk, Klitschko, the same Yarema. Everyone was moving in the same direction. Of course, they had to remove Yanukovych, but for the sake of this they resorted to provocations and blood was shed..... There is enough information that the GPU has evidence of who brought weapons to the Maidan, how much they paid, who paid whom and who was responsible for it , the persons who were responsible for the distribution of weapons and the organization of their use in both directions have been identified - this is there. These people are now in the Verkhovna Rada and other bodies. But they are not responsible,” Yanishevsky said.
He also does not trust the investigation, believing that the Ministry of Internal Affairs officers have already been appointed guilty.

“The entire investigation is focused on fulfilling the order of the “high offices” in which the interested parties sit. These people will never, under any circumstances, allow an objective investigation into the events on the Maidan, since the investigation will inevitably lead to those who ordered the execution in these same “high offices.”
During the court hearings, a number of witnesses for the prosecution, I emphasize - the prosecution, and these were mainly those protesting on the Maidan at that time - stated that fire was fired at them from buildings controlled by the opposition. They were shot in the back. Also, some of them confirmed that the protesters had weapons. There are already established people who were responsible for starting the conflict on the 20th, so that what happened happened,” the ex-Berkut officer noted.
Also, his colleagues in pre-trial detention center sent a letter to the Council of Europe with a request to conduct an independent international investigation.
“An objective investigation is only possible within the framework of an international investigation or with the participation of international investigative teams. As you know, the creation of such a monitoring commission of the Council of Europe to investigate crimes on the Maidan was stipulated in the Agreement of February 21, 2014. But it was not implemented. Our defense side sent letters to the Council of Europe, the guarantor countries of the signing of the Peace Agreement: France, Germany, Poland, with a request to implement paragraph 4 of this agreement and create an independent European commission to investigate crimes on the Maidan,” added Yanishevsky.
