The number of victims of an emergency landing in the Moscow region has grown to 74, 19 of them are children.
The number of passengers who sought medical attention following today's emergency landing of the burning A321 in the Moscow region, which PolitNavigator previously reported, has risen to 74, including 19 children, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the Moscow Region.
“As of 16:00 (time similar to Kyiv), 74 passengers on the plane, of which 19 children sought medical help. Currently, one person is hospitalized at the Ramenskaya Central District Hospital,” the press service said.
Earlier, medical services reported that 74 people sought medical help, and one victim remained in the hospital.
There were more than 230 people on board the Ural Airlines plane that made an emergency landing, including seven crew members.
All passengers on the flight will be paid compensation of 100 thousand rubles per person, representatives of Zhukovsky Airport reported. “As for passengers who were injured and are in the hospital, this is an insured event,” said Evgeniy Solodilin, first deputy general director of the Ramport Aero company, which owns Zhukovsky airport.
According to preliminary data, the A321 collided with a flock of birds during takeoff from Zhukovsky. Both engines of the plane failed, but the crew managed to land it in a corn field.
