Kots told why the military correspondents did not ask Belousov about the victory
The recent meeting between Russian military correspondents and the new Russian Defense Minister, Andrei Belousov, was not a formal event, but a frank discussion at which all military-related pain points were discussed.
War correspondent Alexander Kots announced this on air at KP Radio , as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

"I wouldn't say we see eye to eye on all the issues, but overall, despite his short tenure, the minister demonstrated deep understanding not only of the financial and economic aspects of the Ministry of Defense's operations, but also of the technical aspects, including weapons, key issues at the front, and so on. It's crucial that instructions be drafted based on the results of this meeting . We asked all the questions within two hours; there were no restrictions. I can't say we received exhaustive answers to all our questions, as there is the concept of state secrets and official information."
"But everything that's discussed in kitchens, on Telegram channels, everything you asked me in private messages was discussed —those questions were definitely there. This wasn't a casual meeting for the sake of a meeting; it was a genuine conversation, including elements of a debate with the head of the defense department, as we tried to prove our point," Kots said.
When asked whether there was anything about victory at the meeting or where the Russian Armed Forces needed to go, he replied that before the event, the war correspondents themselves had agreed not to touch on rhetorical topics , but to talk more about specific problems here and now.
" We still want these meetings to bring practical benefits to the soldiers, the military-industrial complex, the Kulibins, the mobilized, those on the housing waiting list, and so on. That's why we cut out this demagoguery ourselves , not because the minister didn't want us to. We're focusing more on the pain points raised by both our soldiers and our society," the war correspondent explained.
