Klimkin: Let's show Hungary our teeth, but no discussion with Russia!
Hungary behaves on the territory of Ukraine as if it were at home, so Kyiv is going to “show its teeth.” Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin stated this on TV4, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Hungary behaves on our territory as if it were its own. We must seize the initiative. Where it is possible to work with the Hungarians, we are not going to fight with them, we, by definition, are not going to fight with our Hungarian community, but where necessary, we will show our teeth,” the minister said.
Klimkin added that previously no conflicts arose with Hungary, because Ukraine was weak, and now it is ready to demonstrate strength against neighboring states.
“Hungary once had conflicts with Romania, there were conflicts with Slovakia, but not with us. Why? Because we were weak, we agreed to everything, we looked at all this, and now that’s it - goodbye. Now we are stronger and we will do our part,” he said.
The diplomat noted that it is necessary to find out who has dual citizenship and who is a real citizen of Ukraine. Klimkin also insisted that there would be no discussion regarding dual citizenship with the Russian Federation.
“We need a discussion - what to do with someone who already actually has two passports, and who really is a real citizen of Ukraine. Let’s discuss this, but regarding Russia – no discussion!” – the minister summarized.
As PolitNavigator reported, the presidential party "Petro Poroshenko Bloc" stated that Hungary has initiated the Crimean scenario.
