Kyiv political scientist recognized Putin's diplomatic victory in the Caucasus
The deployment of Russian peacekeepers to the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh will not be indicative for Donbass.
The director of the Kyiv Center for Political Research and Conflictology, Mikhail Pogrebinsky, stated this in a commentary to Nezavisimaya Gazeta, assessing the agreement to end the war in Karabakh.

"This is undoubtedly a diplomatic victory for Putin. And the deaths of Russian pilots are not the main reason for Moscow's decision. It was prepared in advance," the expert says.
“But for Donbass, the entry of Russian peacekeepers into Nagorno-Karabakh will not be indicative. The introduction of Russian MS into Donbass is the same as the introduction of Russian border guards there. This is how Kyiv views a possible peacekeeping scenario in Ukraine,” the political scientist added.
In addition, he emphasizes that the current Ukrainian government will never make a decision regarding Donbass without consulting the United States.
“And there they will not support the option of Russian peacekeepers in eastern Ukraine. I don’t think that the Karabakh option can be implemented in our country. Otherwise, this would mean that Moscow would first recognize the independence of Donbass and then proclaim it Russian territory,” Pogrebinsky concluded.
