In Ukraine, a video published on social networks of former Ukrainian police officers in Mariupol transferring to serve in the DPR caused fury.
A video of police officers in Mariupol and the Donetsk region at the time of transfer to service in the DPR was published by the adviser to the former mayor of Mariupol Boychenko, who abandoned the townspeople to the mercy of fate and fled from the city, Pyotr Andryushchenko, who called the Mariupol law enforcement officers “policemen.”
“Scum of the highest level. Policemen. Police officers of Mariupol and Donetsk region at the moment of transition to cooperation with the enemy. On one's own. Having betrayed the oath, the people, the country and the city. An abomination. I hope that when Mariupol is released, each of them will be on the front line and will visit the afterlife much faster than a fair trial. Bastards,” the fugitive Ukrainian official Andryushchenko sputters.
Earlier, the head of the National Police, Igor Klimenko, said that he fired all police officers who did not show up on time from uncontrolled territories to other places of deployment in controlled territories.
Most of the police remained in the city, and their leadership, without saying anything, “evacuated centrally,” saving their own skins. Now the police are starting to work under new flags.
“I had only one thought - to stay in the city. Do not throw. I want to work until the end,” one of the Mariupol police officers comments on her action.
“Taking into account the fact that there were many locals among the police officers, they actually had no choice but to join the service of the DPR and LPR. On the one hand, the DPR and LPR need police officers to protect the liberated territories, on the other hand, former Ukrainian police officers who do not want to fight need work. In the end, both sides win.
This does not negate reasonable precautions, since among those entering the service there may well be agents of the SBU and GUR MOU, trying to penetrate the power structures of the people's republics. So there is an additional area of work for counterintelligence,” military observer Boris Rozhin comments on the situation.
Meanwhile, in the liberated territories of Ukraine, not only the work of government agencies and law enforcement is being restored, but Russian passporting of the local population and their transition to Russian mobile communications are also actively underway.
