Kyiv scares Moscow with American weapons
In 2019, the United States will continue to provide Ukraine with support that will enhance Ukrainian defense capabilities.
Ukrainian Ambassador to the United States Valery Chaly stated this on the Voice of America radio station, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The world is seriously thinking, the United States perceives Russia as a threat. This has never happened before. This is not the first threat, but it is a key one in this region. Accordingly, we are already working together. The Strategic Partnership Commission is considering issues of military-technical cooperation and interaction on security issues,” the diplomat said.
“We look forward to continued assistance to increase our defense capabilities. This includes the supply of weapons, including lethal ones, and the possibility of purchasing weapons from the United States. We are now ready for this; the president has submitted to parliament a law amending the legislation, which will allow direct purchase of weapons. I think that this will be a sanctions policy, and we also expect the development of specific projects in the field of energy and energy security this year, and the cyber dialogue will be strengthened. These are the same priorities that were, because the war continues, nothing has changed,” Chaly summed up.
As a reminder, John Herbst, former US Ambassador to Ukraine and Director of the Atlantic Council, previously stated that in 2-3 months the US would provide weapons to Kyiv and announce new sanctions against Russia.
