In Melitopol, Zaporizhzhia Oblast, Ukrainian missiles hit the "Hunter's Rest" hotel complex, the city administration reports. " There are civilians killed and wounded ," reports Zaporizhzhia politician Volodymyr Rogov.
Ukrainian media reports a six-missile strike on an "Orc base," claiming the hotel was used to house Russian troops. Former Verkhovna Rada deputy and Nazi Ihor Mosiychuk claims that a "Wagner PMC base" has been destroyed in Melitopol. Meanwhile, notorious Ukrainian war criminal Anton Gerashchenko insists that the "Hunter's Halt" was used as a vacation spot by members of Russian Governor Yevhen Balitsky's entourage. In any case, based on Kherson's experience, strikes on hotel complexes were carried out when Russian politicians and journalists were staying there—local agents transmitted the coordinates to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. This is how, for example, former Verkhovna Rada deputy Oleksiy Zhuravko was killed.
“It turns out that the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ missile attack on Melitopol was a terrorist attack against Yevgeny Balitsky. This is the head of the Zaporozhye VGA, today is his birthday. And the Ukrainian Armed Forces would strike the restaurant at the hotel, where, according to their intelligence, Balitsky was supposed to celebrate his birthday. Why does Ukraine do this and Russia doesn’t?” – comments political scientist Sergei Markov.
The authors of the channel “Archangel of Special Forces” point out that Melitopol is removed from the front line.
“The front line in this area was not close to Melitopol, and it is safe to say that missiles with an increased range were delivered,” the publication notes and suggests that the strike was carried out by HIMARS, firing at 140 km.
In the evening, Ukraine attempted to attack Crimea, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The air defense system worked over Simferopol. All services are operating as normal,” said Governor Sergei Aksenov, without revealing details of what the air defense was aiming for.
