The purpose of anti-Russian sanctions imposed by the United States is to isolate Russia and consolidate allies against it.
MGIMO Associate Professor Andrei Bezrukov stated this today on the Vesti FM radio station.
“The latest sanctions are quite serious. In practice, we are talking about the exclusion of fairly large Russian companies from the world economy. This leads to economic and financial isolation, labeling us as an outcast with all the ensuing consequences. Then there will be a consolidation of blocs against us in international organizations,” Bezrukov said.
He believes that in the current situation it is necessary to transfer the Russian economy to new tracks.
“We need to stop crying and start answering. And the answers lie primarily in our domestic politics. This is the consolidation of the country, the transfer of the economy and finances to new directions that meet the situation. The moment is ripe. There is no place for us in the system they control,” Bezrukov said.
