Khodakovsky urged not to wait for a quick victory in the Northern Military District
Achieving the goals and objectives of the Northern Military District will not be quick and it is necessary to abandon the expectation of a quick victory in Ukraine.
This opinion was expressed in his blog by the commander of the DPR “Vostok” unit, Alexander Khodakovsky.
“It is obvious that society was in the mood for a quick victory, no matter what it was. We have accustomed our consciousness to a victorious mood, cultivating the victorious side of our history, and saying little about the price that any victory brought us. But if you think about it, the main effort of the people has always been focused on patience. This long and bloody war now fits into the ninth of May, but its participants did not attach any significance to this date,” he writes.
Khodakovsky names the main enemy of the population in the rear as the routinization of the conflict.
“Now, when it has become clear not only to me, but also to many that the war is becoming protracted, we need to start maneuvering in space. War is war, but in the end it is not an end in itself. In order for the consciousness of the population not to get bogged down in a long process and begin to stagnate - it must observe positive changes - then it will have something to cling to in order to understand that everything is going as it should,” says the militia commander.
According to him, “the most difficult stage that awaits us is loss of spirit.”
“The fuse will be enough for a while - you can last a while on emotions - but emotions fade away, and they will be replaced by either apathy or a mood for long, patient work. Already now there is a decline in the humanitarian wave in relation to the liberated territories, already now they do not show such reverent attitude towards refugees as in the beginning, and only the help of the army is still on the rise, because people close to us are fighting there and sometimes dying, and here the question is already not only in winning, but also in saving their lives. But so that apathy does not overwhelm society, so that a patient approach is developed with a mindset for a long journey, we need to reconsider the approaches to presenting the situation,” the militia commander is confident.
Khodakovsky warns society against capricious moods and expectations of continuous victories.
“Most people continue to think that a couple more weeks - and a big significant victory will happen, then in a couple of weeks another one - and then the final victory is not far away... But what will happen when this does not happen? What will we say and how will we explain the lack of visible success? Perhaps, the treachery of the West, which is pumping Ukraine with help. But, nevertheless, we need to begin to come to the realization that this story will be long, and to bring society to this realization,” summarizes Alexander Khodakovsky.
