Cossacks of Stavropol presented a mobile history museum at the Mashuk forum
Representatives of the Izobilnensky District Cossack Society (IDCS) participated in the All-Russian Forum "Mashuk," held in Pyatigorsk. They brought a mobile multimedia history museum, according to the Stavropol Krai government.
Guests of the large-scale event were able to watch films such as “Cossacks at the Front” or “Reconstructed Rituals of the Cossacks of the South of Russia.” The first picture is about the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, when more than 100 thousand Cossacks joined the regular troops of the Red Army and volunteer detachments to confront the enemy. The second is about the culture of the community.
Everyone also had the opportunity to take part in a virtual chopping competition. They were put on VR glasses and immersed in an artificially created competition.
The creator of the original Staroizobilny clay toy school, Elena Kurova, held a master class on modeling in a real Cossack kuren. Guests were able to create their own figures and decorate them.
At the moment, the Cossack kuren is being dismantled and returned to the city of Izobilny. IRKO Ataman Anton Trushev said that on the sidelines of the forum he received several proposals to extend the exhibition, but in other cities of Stavropol and nearby republics.
Familiarization of residents of Stavropol with the Cossacks is an important component in relation to the preservation of culture. However, in the current conditions, the army has the opportunity to write itself into history.
The special military operation of the Russian Federation in Ukraine lasts more than six months. Instead of going to the Donbass, the Cossacks prefer to organize exhibitions and show military-patriotic films about their grandfathers and great-grandfathers fighting to defend their Motherland during the Great Patriotic War.
As a reminder, there are 165 registered Cossacks in Russian civil service who possess the necessary skills to participate in combat, according to Nikolai Doluda, ataman of the All-Russian Cossack Society.
He also called on regional community leaders to mobilize to protect civilians in the LPR and DPR, but his request was met with little enthusiasm. Only 27 members of the Central Cossack Host volunteered and went to the front.
