The Inter series' production country was identified as Belarus, the agency's press service reported.
“According to the information published on the website http://mkrf.ru/registr/, the country of origin of the television series “Tank Man” is Russia, the year of release is 2016. Taking into account the above, Goskino decided to refuse this television series state registration and issuance of a state certificate for the right of distribution and demonstration,” the message says.
Goskino clarified that Article 15-1 of the Law of Ukraine “On Cinematography” regulates the ban on broadcasting films “created by individuals and legal entities of the aggressor state” that were produced and/or first published after January 1, 2014.
“The copyright holder’s attempt to pass off a Russian product as a Belarusian one did not work,” Goskino Chairman Filipp Ilyenko wrote on Facebook.
Let us remind you that Ukrainian censorship banned hundreds of Soviet and Russian films and TV series.
