I want to find words about what happened in Kazan - about the tragedy. But there is nothing that could fully reflect what happened. And for four years now I have been talking about shootings in educational institutions as one of the main threats to Russia. But what's the point?

I spoke about the reasons in detail. Is there any point in repeating? Let me just remind you of the main thing: what happened is a consequence of the system, the matrix (call it what you want), which was created over decades. It is built on elevating oneself at the expense of others at any cost. When other people are a resource, food, and you seem to have the right to control their lives. Add to this the total visualization of evil, when children from a young age live in a cloud of violence and pornography - this is the result.

We have thrown away the first principles. Forgot about the teachers. The institution of family was destroyed. They threw out any unifying ideology. Finally, they even got rid of God. And who came to take His place?

Therefore, what happened in Kazan is a diagnosis. And the stupidest and most vile thing you can do now is to blame everything on one person. And also start broadcasting that it is necessary to strengthen security measures at school. It is necessary to strengthen it, yes, but this is an application to solving the problem, and not a solution as such. When I was studying, we entered school without any security - and there was no talk of such rubbish as in Kerch and Kazan. Because it's not about security. It's about heads and hearts. And the point, first of all, is working with people.

This is the main thing I have to say. We purchase the best equipment for schools - we strive for technical equipment. And we surround the buildings with fences. But the future is not in computers, it is in people. And we need to invest first and foremost in teachers. So that they are not busy with survival when elementary school teachers receive their 20-25 thousand, but with children. A poor teacher is a disgrace for the state, Chekhov wrote. But it is also a threat. Because only a teacher who has a decent salary and authority in society can calmly and systematically take care of children. And in the same way, schools should have other qualified personnel: psychologists, perhaps even bailiffs.

You cannot shield yourself from children in schools. You can’t kill everyone, you can’t shoot everyone, you can’t prevent everything on the spot. It is necessary to work with education, with psychology, and for this, in schools, personnel should be selected not according to the residual principle, but from the best. Working at a school should become prestigious - and then both children and adults will be protected.

And then, perhaps, they will be able to be, if not avoided, then at least minimized.
