Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vladimir Ohryzko stated this at a press conference in Kiev during the presentation of a report by the Institute of World Affairs on the current political situation in Russia and the prospects for Russian-Ukrainian relations.

“There is no greater threat to Ukraine today than the Russian Federation,” the diplomat noted. “When I received the invitation, I thought that the Institute had some kind of secret plan. I read that today we will discuss, I will quote, “different dimensions of Ukrainian-Russian cooperation and recommendations on how to strengthen contacts between the two countries.” I thought that this was some kind of cosmological plan “How we will strangle Russia in our arms.” Last night I read another invitation and realized that, unfortunately, there is no such plan, and therefore we are forced to talk about the real situation.”
