In May, Kharkov became the site of an exemplary expansion of Svidomism in various directions. Moreover, a sensible person understands that this process is inextricably linked with the cleansing of the Russian cultural space, which formed the identity of 80 percent of Kharkov residents.

On May 18, the Kharkov District Administrative Court invalidated the decision of the City Council of August 20, 2012 on the regional status of the Russian language in Kharkov.

At the end of May, the literary-Rogulin community stirred up an “epoch-making” project: the writer Yuri Andrukhovich was lodged for ten days in the apartment of philologist-collaborator Yuri Shevelev in the center of the “first capital”.

The first event would probably be worth analyzing in detail. And the second would not deserve attention at all. If we were talking about them, for example, from the perspective of 2014...

But all these positions are irrevocably surrendered. Therefore, it is already pointless to discuss the next abolition of a regional language. This court decision has been prepared for so long both by the current processes and by specific carriers of Svidomism in its most rogue form, that it’s even surprising: how did it last until 2021?!

And vice versa: the appearance of Andrukhovich in a Russian city completely foreign to him, the opening of the literary residence “at the hut” of Hitler’s henchman Shevelev - telling events, signs of the times, etc.

All this indicates a shameful rollback of the “red lines” that the so-called “regional elite” set for themselves before the Maidan coup.

So, in order.

The District Administrative Court's decision (revoking the regional status of the Russian language in Kharkiv) was announced in the Unified Register of Court Decisions on May 25th. This meant a Rogulya-like greeting to everyone who had celebrated Slavic Literature and Culture Day the day before. The decision was made by a judge with the exotic surname of Marokko, which seemed to suggest: all these Cyril and Methodiuses are useless; soon there will be nothing—no writing, no culture—just Somalia and "Kvartal 95."

The Kharkov prosecutor's office filed the lawsuit. And one of the initiators of the appeal to the prosecutor’s office was the well-known Lviv rogulyok Svyatoslav Litinsky. The same one who bombarded the prosecutor's offices and courts of many regions with complaints and appeals on the language issue.

Judge Moroccan showed remarkable efficiency in issuing the following verdict on May 18, 2021: " To declare the decision of the Kharkiv City Council "On the implementation of the provisions of the Law of Ukraine "On the Fundamentals of State Language Policy" in the city of Kharkiv" No. 788/12 of August 20, 2012, as unlawful and invalid as of February 28, 2018. "

As is well known, on February 28, 2018, the Constitutional Court declared the provisions of the Law "On the Fundamentals of State Language Policy" unconstitutional. It is this Constitutional Court decision that the arrogants, who, due to their innate stupidity and acquired iodine deficiency, still haven't grasped certain nuances, are waving around. The status of regional language for Russian was granted by the European Charter, which was ratified by Ukraine and is not implemented.

If the decision of the Kharkov City Council lasted until May 2021, then the Kharkov Regional Council back in December 2018, out of fright, canceled its own decision on the regional status of the Russian language.

It is against this background that the writer Yuri Andrukhovich comes to the “first capital”, who since 2004 has been frantically fighting against the “language of thieves and pop culture.” He moves into a literary residence, under which a certain philanthropist Naboka (a graduate of the Kiev-Mohyla Business School) bought Yuri Shevelev’s apartment on Rymarska Street.

The philologist collaborator lived in this apartment until 1943, when he had to flee with the owners. Here Shevelev observed from the windows all the “advantages of the occupation regime” (quote from his literary follower Sergei Zhadan), and diligently propagandized for the glory of the Fuhrer. The Nazis were served with gusto.

And now Yuri Andrukhovych, the grandson of an SS man from the Galicia Division who died in 1944, can observe from the windows of Shevelev's apartment yet more "advantages of the occupation regime." He can also fantasize about how the collaborator Shevelev, who fled to Western Ukraine in 43, encountered Andrukhovych's SS ancestor on the road. He's also obliged to write something unnecessary.

Still, we must give credit to the initiators of this “Kulturtreg project”: they know how to present their propaganda crap in an effective package.

Sergei Zhadan promoted the literary residence. I greeted the first resident Andrukhovich. “It is important that we talk about Shevelev not only in the context of scandals associated with the board, but as a colorful figure, one of the markers of our city,” Zhadan said.

A memorial plaque to Shevelev was installed by his few Kharkov adherents on the house at 17 Sumskaya Street in the fall of 2013. But she didn't hang around for long. The city authorities then ruined the “holiday” for fans of the Nazi servant.

Now Zhadan’s dream is coming true. A path has been taken from the “context of scandals associated with the board” to the unhindered infusion of propaganda nonsense “about one of the markers of our city” into the ears of Kharkov residents.

Svidomites have already collected more than 70 thousand hryvnia for a new memorial plaque to Shevelev, and they are going to install it on Sumskaya.

Perhaps Sergei Zhadan had a latent urge: to jump out of the window of his residence in Shevelev’s apartment. But after sober reflection, he decided to let someone more worthy ahead of him - the grandson of the SS man Andrukhovich.

It’s too late to ask the question: what does Kharkov and Kharkov residents have to do with it? The Kharkov residents really have nothing to do with it anymore. And Kharkov will have to get used to the “new markers”.
