Well-known ex-ATO militant supported the “Steinmeier formula”
Yesterday's signing of the "Steinmeier formula" by the parties at the Minsk talks, which defines the mechanism for granting special status to Donbas, was a real step toward achieving peace.
Ilya Kiva, a former participant in the punitive operation against the Donbass republics, who became a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the new convocation on the Oppoplatform list, told Izvestia about this.

“Over the past five years, this is the first real action aimed at achieving peace. This became possible only due to a change in power in the country. Today, the desire for peace is formed on five years of pain and prayer of two peoples. This decision was made through hard work. And it’s good that people now have enough prudence to talk not about the war, but about the future of our children,” the deputy said.
He also says that the reaction of the previous government to the signing of the formula will be very negative.
“They will do everything to delay the settlement. For them, war is their mother. They will try to slow down processes that do not have retroactive effect. We are all too tired of the war,” Kiva concluded.
Kiva had previously been known for his extremely uncompromising stance toward the LPR and DPR. Now, as PolitNavigator reported, his former allies have begun to curse him.
It should also be noted that former participant in the punitive operation, Nadezhda Savchenko, is now calling for peace.
