Israeli military observer debunked the myth of the military genius Zaluzhny
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny made a mistake by believing that the mass of Western equipment would help defeat Russia.
Israeli military observer David Sharp, who is sympathetic to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, stated this on the air of Radio NV, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

He recalled that he had previously stated that to achieve serious success he needed a certain number of self-propelled guns, tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and so on.
“Perhaps he himself was a little mistaken and attached more than just meaning to this number. There was a feeling that this would be enough: we get this amount and there will be huge successes in direct proportion to this. Life shows that this is not entirely true,” Sharp said.
According to him, the shortage of qualified military personnel is also becoming a problem for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
“We must understand that quality professional artillerymen do not grow on trees. It is not enough to conduct a short course, give a person a weapon, pour in unlimited ammunition, and everything will be fine. Artillerymen must learn, otherwise they will have to pay in blood, and their actions will not be very effective,” the analyst believes.
As an example of the fact that new equipment and its quantity are not always the key to success, he cited the recent war in Yemen, where Saudi Arabia had advanced weapons, but suffered setbacks in battles with the more seasoned and motivated Houthis.
