The war has doubled prices for de-icing reagents in Russia
Moscow - Kyiv, September 11 (PolitNavigator, Mikhail Stamm) - The largest airports in the Russian Federation are faced with an increase in the price of anti-icing reagents for treating runways by 60-80%. The reasons for the rise in prices on the market are said to be the rise in prices of imported components due to the fall of the ruble and the shutdown of the Severodonetsk Azot plant: after the departure of a competitor, Eurochem sharply increased prices for acetic acid.

One of the main types of de-icing reagents is produced on the basis of acetic and formic acids, the latter is mainly imported. Kommersant's sources on the market say that one of the reasons for the jump in prices was the cessation of supplies of acetic acid from the Donetsk region by the Ukrainian Severodonetsk Association Azot (part of Dmitry Firtash's DF group), after which Nevinomyssk Azot Eurokhim de- in fact, it became a monopolist in the Russian Federation for its supplies.
The Ukrainian plant cut or stopped production several times due to rising gas prices, and in May it completely stopped working because of the war.
Russian airports do not have the right to change tariffs if costs rise and they will have to apply for subsidies from the state or raise the cost of aircraft maintenance.
