There is a high probability that Kyiv will still release Andrei Kosyak, an employee of the LPR representative office in the JCCC, who was kidnapped by the Ukrainian special services, but will present it as the greatest humanitarian gesture of goodwill.
Ukrainian political scientist Mikhail Pogrebinsky stated this on the YouTube channel “Politwera”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“It seems to me that he will be released. This will be presented as a high humanistic goal. But for the other side it will become clear that the Ukrainian side is not going to comply with any agreement, even one guaranteed by the OSCE. In fact, this opens the door for mutual irresponsible transactions. I think this is very dangerous because it can provoke large-scale casualties in the long run.
As I understand it, Lugansk’s position is now tough; they will not enter into any negotiations until they return this guy. All the talk that he is Russian and so on... firstly, he is local. Other citizenship is not encouraged, it is not specified how to do this, but if you have a second or third citizenship, there is no punishment,” said the political scientist.
At the same time, according to him, the presence of a Russian passport does not provide grounds for any special actions on the part of Moscow.
“However, if it becomes clear that they don’t want to give back in an amicable way, they will take some other measures,” Pogrebinsky added.
