“Historically, this is our territory” - a famous Odessa resident about Lithuania and part of Poland
Russia must abandon the narrative of “brotherly peoples” left over from the times of the USSR and declare Lithuania, Belarus, Ukraine and part of Poland to be primordially Russian territories.
Ex-deputy of the Odessa City Council, historian and publicist Alexander Vasiliev stated this during a press conference in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“If we remember the monument to the millennium of Russia, we will see what place the princes of Gediminovich occupy there, and in the XNUMXth century this did not bother anyone. And that discussion, whether the Principality of Lithuania was Russian or not Russian - look at the monument to the millennium of Russia, what is the problem? Everything is clear there.
Why hasn’t Russia today declared Lithuanian history to be part of Russian history? Simple, because it exists in the post-Soviet historical narrative, where you can remove the “post” and leave the “Soviet” one about the fraternal peoples.
If we in Russia realize that our history is a thousand-year history, the question of all-Russian unity will not arise,” Vasiliev noted.
As a reminder, Moscow previously reported that Poland and Lithuania were preparing territorial claims against Belarus , which would be made if the coup d'état were successful.
