Islamists attacked soldiers of the DR Congo army
Militants of the “Islamic State” (IS, ISIS, banned in Russia) attacked soldiers of the Democratic Republic of Congo in the Ranzuri area in the Beni region. As a result of the battle, one government army soldier was killed by terrorists and several more were wounded. The rest fled, leaving behind their weapons and ammunition, which went to the terrorists.
In addition, militants attacked a group of Christians near the town of Oicha in the Beni region. The radicals killed three people.

The DR Congo army is unable to confront the growing terrorist threat alone. Militants regularly attack military positions, forcing them to flee. The situation remains particularly tense in eastern DRC, where terrorists are endangering civilians by looting and burning their homes.
The aggravation of the situation led the country's government to the decision to seek help from the Russian Wagner PMC, which has demonstrated its skills in fighting militants in Syria. According to some reports, the agreement has already been signed in the capital.
