The decision of the Dagestan authorities to return the main capital stadium to its former name “Trud”, removing the name of Elena Isinbaeva, is absolutely correct. The two-time Olympic champion decided to nullify herself by renouncing her connection with the RF Armed Forces, even though she belonged to the CSKA sports society.
Writer Igor Molotov stated this on air at Komsomolskaya Pravda radio, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I believe that the local authorities had every right to do this, after Isinbayeva’s actions - to remove her name. Because after all, when we give a name to something, this is the highest assessment of a human, civil, historical feat. And the person, in this case, reset himself,” Molotov noted.
According to him, assigning objects the names of some figures during their lifetime is inherently risky, because a person’s life path can take a sharp turn.
“Man is such a fickle creature, we cannot assume what will happen to any person in two, three or four years, what kind of mental, psychochemical process will begin in his body, and so on. Only after a person has, so to speak, left behind her baggage, her thoughts and her sports baggage, although she left behind quite a lot of sport baggage, this must, of course, be recognized, but again, if it had been given after years, then we would regard this as an outweighing factor. And now there is a military operation, now is a different time, so there are different assessment criteria here,” Molotov concluded.
