“Inter” will remain with the license, but with a discouraged desire to show Kobzon in the future
Kyiv, January 03 (PolitNavigator, Maxim Karpenko) – The Ministry of Information of Ukraine changed their mind about taking away the license from the Inter TV channel because they broadcast speeches by Joseph Kobzon, Valeria and Oleg Gazmanov on New Year’s Eve. The head of the Ministry of Information, Yuriy Stets, stated this on TV channel 112.

His statement came against the backdrop of information from the management of Inter that the New Year’s broadcast with persons “non grata” was watched by three times more audience than the “patriotic” concert of “Okean Elzy”.
“When I said that we must somehow react to what Inter allowed itself to do on New Year’s Eve, I did not want to ban the channel or take away its license, since this would be considered an attempt to put pressure on the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting . Obviously, when we say that such a product does not have a place on Ukrainian television channels, this means that we must promote and do everything possible so that our media have the desire to create their own television product that would be perceived positively by television viewers,” Stets said.
Inter will retain its license, but will have its desire to show Kobzon in the future dashed.
