“In the case of the Lviv student, the court also decided to destroy Karl Marx’s “Capital” as an instrument of crime,” Kiev publicist Miroslava Berdnik recalls in her blog. – But “Capital” is a work containing a critical analysis of capitalism. It tells, in particular, that the production of surplus value or profit is the absolute law of the capitalist mode of production. In 2013, UNESCO included the manuscript of Capital in the Memory of the World register, stating that the Communist Manifesto and Capital are two of the most important publications of the 19th century, highly influential to this day. And in Ukraine, keeping the house of Marx’s “Capital” is already a crime.”

Let us note that the “Manifesto of the Communist Party” and the first volume of “Capital” by Karl Marx were jointly proposed to UNESCO by Germany and the Netherlands, who indicated that these works had a great influence on social movements around the world from the time of their writing.
Earlier, as PolitNavigator reported, the director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Memory, Volodymyr Vyatrovich, demanded the demolition of the monument to Karl Marx , erected on the territory of a factory owned by President Poroshenko.
