“There is a territorial disintegration of Ukraine” - Ukrainian academician about the conflict with Donbass
Donbass as part of Ukraine could only be kept from Kiev’s compliance with the Minsk agreements, which, however, is unlikely to help.
Ukrainian historian, academician of the National Academy of Sciences Pyotr Tolochko spoke about this on the You-Tube channel “Echo of Kyiv,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is a slow territorial disintegration. We lost Crimea, I’m afraid we have already lost part of Donbass, I have no hope. I have spoken many times with my opponents: if you want Donbass to be yours, for the war to end, accept all the terms of the Minsk agreements. Give them the Russian language, give them economic autonomy, pass an amnesty law. When I was discussing with Leonid Kuchma, he said to me: “Pyotr Petrovich, how is it possible, their hands are covered in blood up to their elbows!” I say: “Leonid Danilovich, don’t ours have blood on their hands up to the same elbow?” – said Tolochko.
