Both shame and war: In Moldova they demand the resignation of the minister who apologized for Russia
Members of the pro-European opposition bloc ACUM blocked the Moldovan parliament's podium today, preventing Prime Minister Ion Chicu from delivering his report and disrupting the meeting, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The opposition continues to demand the resignation of Foreign Minister Aureliu Ciocoi, who last week had the courage to say that Russia stopped the bloodshed on the Dniester in the 90s.
ACUM submitted a vote of no confidence in the minister to parliament. However, the leadership of the parliament, consisting of supporters of President Dodon, who is considered pro-Russian, did not put the issue of resignation on the agenda.
Instead, Ciocoi apologized for his words, though not to the pro-European opposition, but for some reason to the deputies of the Democratic Party of oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, who fled the country. The socialists now have an informal coalition with them. The Democrats accepted the apology, but this did not stop ACUM from disrupting the meeting.
