The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin, on the air of the Majlis TV channel ATR, tried to pit Russia and Turkey against each other, accusing Moscow of organizing a referendum in Kurdistan.

“Russia is trying to consistently work against Turkey. Did the Kurdistan referendum fall out of the blue? We know very well what kind of connections Russia has there. Why do the Kurds need outside influence? Only they themselves, like us, Ukrainians, can decide their own destiny,” said the Ukrainian diplomat, apparently forgetting that the referendum was sanctioned back in 2014 by the Iraqi authorities, controlled by the United States.
Klimkin claims that Russia is consistently working against Turkey, the correspondent reports. "PolitNavigator".
“What is happening in Syria and Kurdistan is a conscious attempt to put Turkey in a more difficult position. Russia is trying to exacerbate the challenges facing Turkey. In Turkey everyone understands. They have trade relations, Russian tourists. But, as I understand it, there is no trust between Russia and Turkey. Türkiye will never compromise its values regarding the Crimean Tatars,” Klimkin said.
