Gritsak tried to convince Crimeans that they were living in a “death camp”
Thousands of Ukrainian citizens in Crimea and Donbass were subjected to torture after the events of spring 2014.
SBU head Vasyl Hrytsak made this statement during a joint briefing with Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin in Kyiv, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
According to him, for “the fifth year Ukraine has been living in conditions of an undeclared war,” millions of Ukrainian citizens have fled Crimea and Donbass, and those who remain are “intimidated every day, forced to remain silent, and thrown behind bars into terrorist torture chambers.”
“Today we presented six collections in which we collected testimonies of 435 prisoners who were in death camps. These collections or testimonies that you now hold in your hands do not have literary descriptions of events, they are simply testimonies of those people who agreed to give them. We have testimonies of more than 1000 people who were subjected to these tortures, but, unfortunately, not all of them agreed for us to present their testimonies in these collections,” Gritsak added.
