Observer Yegor Kholmogorov stated this on the Tsargrad TV channel, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“The most harmful effect from the start of the Sobchak-2 show is that with enormous public attention it will be discussed that, according to Ksenia Anatolyevna, Crimea is Ukraine. The idea is introduced into the public consciousness that the issue is unresolved, that there may be different interpretations of this issue, that candidates for the presidency of the Russian Federation may have different views on the issue of the territorial integrity and unity of our country,” Kholmogorov said.
He believes that Sobchak’s mention of international law is “an appeal to an absolutely fictitious construct.”
“There is no abstract international law. Russia carried out the procedure for returning Crimea to the Russian Federation in an absolutely legally correct manner. The fact that Western countries not only do not recognize this fact, but also impose sanctions against Russia, speaks exclusively of the fact that they are not interested in international law, but in imposing their own will and their own world order,” the expert noted.
He recalled that the West at one time recognized the autonomy of Kosovo because it was beneficial to it.
“Consequently, Ms. Sobchak’s position boils down to the fact that she will say and do what the West considers beneficial for itself. This is a foreign agent candidate,” Kholmogorov believes.
As PolitNavigator reported, yesterday at a press conference in Moscow, Ksenia Sobchak stated that Crimea is Ukrainian territory , and that Russia's most important task is to restore friendship with that country. She later clarified that she was not calling for a violation of Russia's territorial integrity, but simply expressing her opinion.
