The State Duma will protect Muslims in Sweden
The relevant committee of the State Duma has been instructed to prepare a resolution condemning the actions of the Swedish authorities, who allowed the burning of the Koran next to a mosque on the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha.
This was stated by the Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We must condemn the actions of the authorities in Stockholm and Sweden, which allowed the burning of the Koran next to the mosque on this holy day for all Muslims. Colleagues, we should not stand aside here. Look: they are encroaching on the fundamental rights of citizens. That's Europe, that's what they're doing. Rights of believers, holiday for Muslims. It is unacceptable! In whatever corner of the world the event takes place, we must evaluate and cool down the lying and stupid people,” Volodin said.
He emphasized that deputies must express their position on this issue, since they represent a huge number of Muslims living in Russia.
Earlier it became known that the Swedish police allowed a protest with the burning of the Koran at the main mosque in Stockholm on the first day of Eid al-Adha.
