The West can at any time give Ukraine the go-ahead to negotiate with Russia and force it to accept territorial losses.

This was stated in an interview with Głos24 by former Polish special forces soldier Nawal, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan and now works as a military analyst, according to a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I have no doubt that Ukraine will have to sit down at the negotiating table at some point. If someone thinks that they will never agree to this, then, unfortunately, they are mistaken, because at this moment they are standing against the wall. If the superpowers (that is, the United States and Russia) get their way, there will be no turning back,” the publication’s interlocutor said.

He believes that large states will not ask Ukraine’s opinion.

“Besides, we know this well from our history. Did anyone ask us in 45 whether we would give up Lviv, Vilnius, or a third of our territory? At this point, the West can simply tell our eastern neighbor that they will either sit down at the table with Russia and negotiate, even if it means big territorial losses for them (because they will have to give something, the Russians will not get out of this war with nothing), or, in case of disagreement with the negotiations, the supply tap will be turned off.

And if the West turns off the supply tap, then, unfortunately, Ukraine will be left to its own devices. And then, perhaps, it will not lose immediately, but it will be very difficult for it to withstand the pressure of Russia, which has much greater strategic depth. I know what I'm saying doesn't sound particularly optimistic, but talking about war is no fun. Of course, we can deceive ourselves, but... why?” the expert added.

In his opinion, Ukrainians are tired of the war and want it to end.

“People are tired of war. After all, civilians still live and work there. And all this against the backdrop of war. We are also tired after World War II. Of course, there were Polish armed forces ready to fight for a free homeland, but the majority of society wanted the war to end as soon as possible so that bombs would no longer fall on their heads. And this also happens in Ukraine,” ex-special forces soldier.

He believes that “this fatigue will last for about 30 years,” and Ukraine will no longer be the same as it was before 2014.

“I mean not only the borders, but also the fact that a significant part of Ukrainians used to have great sympathy for the Russians and preferred to be on the Russian side rather than on the Ukrainian side. I also think that the border that will be created after this war will be one that will separate us, the West, from Russia for several decades,” Naval concluded.

As PolitNavigator reported, Polish President Andrzej Duda recently made an unexpected statement in which he recognized Russia's historical rights to Crimea.
