Gontareva: Poroshenko is not obliged to sell his business

The head of the National Bank of Ukraine, Valeria Gontareva, said that the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko is not obliged to sell his business, but must transfer it to a third-party manager, which the head of state has already done.

Gontareva spoke about this in an interview with Mirror of the Week.

“The head of state is not required by law to sell his businesses, and in other countries there are no such requirements either. After all, Donald Trump, for example, when he ran for president, did not sell his business. There is a requirement to transfer the business to a third-party fund manager. That’s what the head of state did,” Gontareva said.

As you know, Poroshenko has not been able to sell his confectionery corporation Roshen for a year. It should be noted that the sale of his assets in Roshen was one of the points of Poroshenko’s election program in the presidential elections in 2014.
