The Kiev leadership has completely failed to prepare for the winter period - the energy resources stored by Ukraine are several times less than the required minimum.
Deputy Alexei Goncharenko, notorious for his Russophobic attacks, stated this during an extraordinary meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I would like to draw attention to everything that is happening in the energy sector of Ukraine. Preparations for the autumn-winter period have been completely failed. Gas reserves in storage facilities are ten billion cubic meters less than last year. There are 600 thousand tons of coal in warehouses. This is several times less than what is needed to get through the autumn-winter period,” the deputy said.
At the same time, he was indignant at the fact that Kyiv intends to purchase electricity from Belarus.
“And the authorities plan to open the import of Belarusian Russian electricity and do this right from the first of November. When we owe money to our own miners, at that moment we send money to Belarus and the Russian Federation. To the aggressor country and Putin's vassal Lukashenko. Instead of financing our miners and energy workers, we will finance those who today pose a danger to the state. How can this be?” says the politician.
“The gas issue has reached the point where Putin is now sitting, rubbing his hands, and waiting for Ukraine to crawl on its knees and ask him for gas. This cannot be allowed. But how could it be possible not to purchase gas for gas storage facilities in the spring and summer,” the deputy laments.
