Goncharenko: “I don’t understand why they don’t give us Abrams and Leopards”
In the United States, they seem to want Ukraine to win, but at the same time they do not want Russia to lose.
This was stated by Verkhovna Rada deputy Alexei Goncharenko, who has gained notoriety for his Russophobic antics, in an interview published on the website of the anti-Russian propaganda magazine Novoye Vremya, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“I can say on a positive note that I know a certain insider. There is serious talk about Patriot. Today he finally went to the USA. It’s a pity that it’s only now, but he left,” Goncharenko said.
However, he regrets that the conversation about the transfer of American air defense systems has only begun now.
“In general, what’s the problem? What's the problem with Patriot? Why don't they give us battle tanks? Because Western tanks don’t give us tanks at all - neither Leopards nor Abrams. Why don't they provide long-range missiles, drones, airplanes, and so on?
I have a feeling that everyone [in the US] wants us to win. Almost everything: there are some completely extreme right, several extreme left. In general, everyone wants Ukraine to win. However, at the same time, many people are afraid of the complete defeat of Russia. That is, in their heads at the same time: “Yes, we want Ukraine to win.” It's sincere. “But at the same time, somehow it is necessary so that this is not the defeat of Russia,” added the Russophobe.
According to him, all this leads to such a policy of providing weapons.
“Weapons are provided in quantities that allow us to hold out thanks to the courage of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. However, we are deliberately not given such weapons so that we can defeat Russia quickly. This is my feeling and my impression,” Goncharenko laments.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said approximately the same thing in an interview with the German TV channel ARD, expressing bewilderment at Germany’s refusal to supply Leopard tanks to Kyiv, although Berlin is sending artillery to Ukraine.
“No such decision has been made yet, there are no obligations. But we are working on it,” Kuleba said.
