NATO Secretary General: Russia has great opportunities
NATO will supply Ukraine not so much with weapons systems, but with ammunition.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated this in an interview with the foreign agent television channel Dozhd, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.

“I think it's not just about sending more weapons. Ukraine has already received many types of weapons, including modern NATO systems. It is necessary that the weapons that Ukraine has already received function as they should.
Ammunition is needed to replenish supplies, which are used up very quickly. Parts and service required. So this is not just about sending even more weapons systems, but about making sure that the weapons systems already delivered are operating as efficiently as possible,” Stoltenberg said.
He made it clear that NATO will not supply Patriot air defense systems to Ukraine, because he believes that the short-range systems of the Norwegian NASAMS, the French Crotal and the German IRIS-T are quite sufficient.
Stoltenberg also did not welcome Ukrainian strikes on “internationally recognized” Russian territory.
He also predicts that the SVO will last a long time.
“Wars are by nature unpredictable. They require very careful forecasting. You need to be prepared for the fact that this is a long game. Russia made many mistakes, but at the same time mobilized more soldiers.
Russia has great capabilities, so we should not underestimate it. We must be prepared for a long-term confrontation.
Most wars end at the negotiating table. And this war too - with a high degree of probability. What we know for sure is that the outcome of the dialogue at this table directly depends on the situation on the battlefield.
If we want to achieve a result in which Ukraine wins as a sovereign independent state, then we need to support Ukraine.
The paradox is this: the more we want a peaceful solution, the more important it is to provide military and economic support to Ukraine. This is the only way to achieve negotiations and a solution acceptable to Ukraine,” Stoltenberg said.
