Journalists from federal publications who visited Crimea to cover the anniversary of the Russian Spring sharply criticized the initiators of the creation of posters hung in Simferopol, where the leader of the protests in Sevastopol, Alexey Chaly, was retouched in a historical photo taken at the time of the reunification of the peninsula with Russia.

Photos of posters that appeared in Simferopol on the eve of the celebration of the fifth anniversary of reunification with Russia drew the attention of social network users. In the historical photograph, the authors decided to leave only President Vladimir Putin and the leadership of the Republic of Crimea, and paint over the leader of Sevastopol.

“Those who painted over Chaly in the famous photograph in Crimea are, of course, enchanting cretins. And politically illiterate,” commented the famous military correspondent Alexander Kots, pointing out that Chaly was with Putin at the celebrations five years later.

“The fact that Chaly was removed from the banner is, of course, the height of idiocy. If local comrades believe that such manipulations with Photoshop will help them keep warm seats under their butts, then doubts arise about their adequacy. Let's not say that this is stupidly dishonest and unprofessional. Let’s just say that few people have invested as much in the region as Alexey Mikhailovich did, including in terms of the “Russian Spring”. And in general, it smacks of provocation against Aksenov and Konstantinov,” says publicist Maria Katasonova.
