Farion recalled that, having entered the Verkhovna Rada, “Svoboda” forced Russian-speaking deputies to switch to the Ukrainian language by chanting and stamping their feet. However, one day this did not happen when the “regional” oligarch Efim Zvyagilsky rose to the podium.
“What was the most offensive, brought me to tears. Just to tears. There was one episode when Zvyagilsky was supposed to speak. But he doesn’t speak Ukrainian. And he comes up to me. I say "No". At the very least, I will now write all this to you in Ukrainian. "I can't read this!" And he starts speaking (from the podium), I start shouting: “Ukrainian language!” And my brothers-in-arms say: “Please”…” Farion said and began to cry.
“I come to Tyagnibok and say: why did you do this? And he replies that Zvyagilsky is the oldest person in parliament. I say, “It’s still wrong. There are speeches in which you can never compromise. Under no circumstances,” the nationalist continued, and soon stopped, as tears prevented her from speaking further.
“Can I hug you?” – the journalist talking with Farion was touched.
